Our Therapeutic Day Program is for young adults who have graduated or transitioned from high school and are interested in maintaining their current skills and learning more about the additional skills they will need for adult life. This program is designed for young adults (21 - 40) who will attend the program 3 - 5 times a week.

The Therapeutic Day Program focuses on social skills training, peer support, exploration of workplace options, community service, health and fitness, therapeutic activities and planning for an independent future and includes programming such as:

Health/Fitness: Adaptive Yoga and Adaptive Fitness classes taught by certified instructors, focusing on cardio, strength training, and flexibility.

Therapeutic: Music Therapy and Art Therapy led by certified and licensed therapists.

Community Activities: Visiting local stores, libraries, parks, and doing volunteer work at various locations in the community.

Social/Life Skills: Healthy lifestyle choices, stranger danger and pedestrian safety discussions, technology lessons, budgeting and financial skill development, dental hygiene and self-care practice, social skills development, staying up-to-date with current news on CNN Student News: News of the Day meetings.

Weekly fun activities: Out to lunch, bowling, movies and mini golf at Aurora Cineplex, and various fun activities

Special Outings: Ballet performances, Zoo Atlanta, GA Aquarium, Atlanta Center for Puppetry Arts, Roswell Cultural Arts Center, Berry Patch Farms, North Georgia Wildlife Park, Pine Mountain Wild Animal Safari, and more!

Saturday Fun Day: One Saturday per month, we offer a Saturday Fun Day for participants, ages 16-40, from 9am-2pm. This day offers a break for families and caregivers while giving participants an opportunity for a fun day out with their friends.

Early drop off beginning at 8 A.M., the program runs 8:30 A.M.-4:00 P.M

Cost:

We accept the NOW/COMP Waiver and private payments.

Drop-In Programs

This program is designed for young adults (21-40) who need access to our program once or twice per week. The Drop-In is integrated with our Therapeutic Day Program and enjoys all of the same amenities.

This program requires 24 hours of advanced notice to confirm availability.

Saturday Fun Day

One Saturday per month, we offer a Saturday Fun Day for participants, ages 16-40, from 9am-2pm. This day offers a break for families and caregivers while giving participants an opportunity for a fun day out with their friends.

Summer Friends Program

This program is for individuals with developmental disabilities ages 16 to 21 still attending high school. Students participate alongside other Therapeutic Day Program participants during the summer, as well as on teacher workdays, school holidays and breaks. The program offers participants a fun place to go and be with friends, while giving parents an alternative to staying home or finding in-home care. It also introduces the Therapeutic Day Program as a potential long-term solution for their children once they age out of the school system.
